Tuatha De Dannon

I so enjoy the emails from here. I especially hold to my heart the one about "Graditude" I am a newbie here and realize I cannot have a teacher until I find my path. My path I am still in search of...I believe I have added a new power animal to my heart. I have of late been obsessed by Edgar Allan Poe and his wonderous Raven. I was with family (5 adults and 3 children) in my backyard last week. I was just enjoying watching the grandchildren, when from the trees came a loud rustling. I was amazed to see a large bird come flying down and over my head, so quickly I could not tell of which species it was. It was only over me, and not angry or attacking. It was as if to say, I am here. Everyone stood frozen in amazement, while I sat there smiling. It was so close, its claws could have easily clipped the roof above my head. I looked at it as a sign. My other animal friends are the Lion and the monkey. Could the Raven be here to help me find my path? Not really a question, it is just people think I am strange as it is, just wanting to share with others, who may not find me so strange. Ireland makes my heart sing. I have been married to my soul mate 32 years. I also see things in my dreams, that sometimes comes true. Thanks for listening. Blessed be.

Crow’s Message and Medicine

Curiosity / Intelligence / Mimicking / Seeing / Communication

Crow is a very intelligent bird. Its feathers are black and shiny. Crow is a member of the songbird family. Crow is omnivorous and can eat just about anything. They will wait for an opportunity to steal its food instead of hunting for it. Crows work together to warn off predators. If a hawk or owl shows up in crows territory, crows will join forces to drive it away. Crows know that owl is looking for a meal and will return at night when crow can't defend itself. Crow makes great sentinels. Their nest are build high up in trees so that it can watch what is going on around them.

Crow is master of change and movement; mystery and illusion. Crow is fearless and is guardian of things hidden and sacred. Crow is the interpreter of the unknown . There is a trickster quality about crow. Crow knows when to reveal his presence and when to stay hidden. When crow enters your life it is time to interpret signs, symbols, omens and dreams. Make peace with your shadow self. Crow is attracted to bright shiny objects. Remember all that glitters is not gold. Do not take what is not yours but always be prepared to take advantage of hidden opportunities. Practice shape shifting. Take a class in Shamanism or Clairvoyance. Trust your intuition. Time for introspection.

Crow by some means represents death or change a sort of rebirth.
This could very well be an indication as to your path. Have a look at the Shaman's corner here, play with some of the meditations, search out shaman classes in your area.

"A person can not just choose to be a shaman, they are chosen from before they were born to be a shaman." So sayeth a very wise woman I know and look to.

Thank you so much Danu, for your words of wisdom and knowledge. I have copied them ino my jounal. It is a little scary about the raven representing death, but the feeling I get is more a change. I have played all the traditional roles in life, I feel it is time to go inside me to discover what or who the me is inside of me. I feel a shaman may be a bit more than what I am to be. I learned to shut off certain things (seeing in my dreams) because people could not accept me. I have tried to tell people things, they don't believe me, until it comes true. Of late a co-worker called me witchy woman and told me to stop my voodoo etc. He no longer works with me. *smile*. I am studying the gods and goddesses, especially in Ireland, folklore, faeries and anything pertaining to them. I will find my path when it is shown to me. I am patient. My lion is my strength, my monkey is my endless curiosity. I hope my raven gives me the wisdom to follow the right path. I also have my spirit guide Niall, he makes himself known in public sometimes and it scares people. Thank you for your kind answers. Blessed be.

Walk your path with pride my friend, allow the flow of the Universe and all will be reviled.
When losses come, gladly except that things are just as they are meant to be.
Never doubt that you are more than what you believe, believe that you are more than you think.
You are the grace of Divine Will and Love.

Danu has covered the medicine of Crow, but I just had to pop in with my own two cents here...

I LOVE Poe. I have ever since I was a little girl. 'Morbid child', I know. lol Maybe it was due to the fact that I was exposed to his work by my grandmother whom I still love dearly, but be that as it may... I still enjoy his work. *grin*

Thank you for your reply Nya. Merry meet. Have you ever listened to a musical group called "Omnia"? They are from the "Nederlands", I think it is around Holland. The lead, recites "The Raven" and it is mesmerizing. They have great music, moving not just entertaining. I am also called morbid. I tell everyone, I am not alone in my morbid ways. Poe and Shakespeare are masters. mote it be.

Poe Rocks! I have a good collection myself. Not sure what turned me on to him, but have loved him since I was a teen.

Robbie~ As a fan of Poe I hope you'll get the opportunity to visit his grave here in Baltimore sometime. I'm not much of a sport's person but our NFL team here is named The Ravens in honor of his great poem.

PS~ I truly believe that you will find your teacher when the time is right. That teacher may very well come before you "find your path". The Goddess has a way of surprising us with things like that!
