It's certainly true that many neolithic sites and monuments are often found in the same area. I think this would have been true of a lot of England, but many stone circles, and barrows etc were destroyed to provide farmers with more land to grow crops during the war years.

We do try to keep up with Archaeological news which is where we get much of the the information for our blog on our website. Many of the digs take place in the west country and Scotland, where many neolithic sites are prevalent. Unfortunately the media in general doesn't seem to be interested in reporting development s in this field.
An excellent site for keeping up with news from neolithic sites is http://www.stonepages.com/ their forums are very good too
